For the ICC player of the month award, India all-rounder Washington Sundar nominated

All-rounder of team India Washington Sundar has been nominated for the prestigious ICC Player of the Month award along with England’s Gus Atkinson and Scotland’s Charlie Cassell. Sundar played an important role in India’s young squad that toured Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series. After their victorious campaign in the Men’s T20 World Cup with the regular T20I players resting, he seized the opportunity to prove his worth as the team’s leading spin-bowling all-rounder.
Despite India’s unexpected loss in the first T20I, Sundar delivered an impressive performance, taking 2/11 and scoring a crucial 27 runs. His all-round efforts kept India in the game, though they ultimately fell short by 13 runs in a chase of 115.
The resilient all-rounder played a pivotal role in India’s comeback, helping turn a 1-0 series deficit into a 4-1 victory. Sundar’s consistent performances with the ball saw him take six more wickets across the remaining four matches. His standout moment came in the third T20I, where he recorded figures of 3/15 and was named Player of the Match. Sundar’s exceptional contributions earned him the Player of the Series title, finishing with the joint-most wickets in the series (eight).
