Former Captain Rohit Sharma, itching to turn up for MI again, says, ‘I will be ready for the game

Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma will be in the spotlight as his team opens their IPL 2024 campaign against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium at 7:30 PM IST. This marks a significant moment for Sharma, as it will be the first time since the 2013 season that he will play under another player’s captaincy for the Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai outfit had earlier declared Hardik Pandya as the new captain of the franchise. It signifies a new chapter in Sharma’s IPL journey, and he will be eager to kick it off with a strong performance.

Despite relinquishing the captaincy, Sharma still carries the responsibility of setting the tone for his team’s campaign. Ahead of the exciting clash, Sharma has shared insights into his preparations.

“For me, preparation has always been the key that gives me confidence ahead of any game. Yeah, there are a lot of things I do before a game, and I think I have done almost everything. And I will be ready for the game,” said Rohit Sharma.
