Franchises get a salary boost as part of the WPL 2024 auction starting on December 9 in Mumbai

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed the auction date for WPL 2024. The second edition of the Women’s Premier League Auction will be held in Mumbai on December 9.
Ahead of the WPL 2024 auction, franchises will get an increased salary purse of Rs 13.5 crore each. The league is all set for February, ahead of IPL 2024. However, venues are not yet official. Bengaluru and Mumbai are likely to host the two legs of the 5-team tournament.
The Gujarat Giants will go into the auction with the maximum purse after overhauling the squad. They have Rs 5.95 crore in their bank with 10 slots to fill. UP Warriorz are second with a total purse of Rs 4 crore, while Royal Challengers Bangalore will go into the auction with Rs 3.35 crore.
