From 2025, Up To 6 Players To Be Retained as BCCI To Continue With IPL Mega Auction

According to the latest developments about IPL 20-25, there are a number of reports stating that BCCI will continue with the mega auction despite protests from several teams.
According to a report, the Roger Binny-led board is contemplating increasing the retention list up to 6 players, including Right To Match (RTM), but they are not in favour of disbanding the mega-auction as suggested by a few teams during the recently concluded meeting at BCCI headquarters on July 31.
There has been a debate over the mega-auction For a long time, a few teams have remarked that because of the mega-auctions, they have to let go of the talent they scouted and rebuild a team from scratch.
However, BCCI is unmoved by the demands and does not want to disrupt their tradition for the IPL. Previously, in the year 2022, the BCCI had only allowed four retentions with no RTM provision.
