Gautam Gambhir says, "KL Rahul provides India stability at No. 4
Former player of team India Gautam Gambhir feels that KL Rahul provides stability to team India at number 4 position following the Indian batter's dream return to the side during the Asia Cup 2023.
Rahul made a brilliant return to international cricket during the Asia Cup 2023, after a long injury break since early May. His comeback was marked by amazing performances, particularly against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Speaking to Star Sports, Gambhir said that India needs a batter who can give stability at No. 4, and Rahul is the right man for the job.
Gambhir said, "The most important thing is stability. You need a batter at No. 4 who can give you stability because you don't want to put the entire pressure on your top three. KL Rahul provides you with that stability."
Gambhir also feels that Rahul was in a completely different rhythm after his century against Pakistan.
As he said, "KL Rahul has the ability and the shots where he can change his batting tempo at any time. However, more important than that was that he scored a century in his first game against Pakistan after coming back from injury, and he looked in a totally different rhythm after that."
