In an interview Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell shared an interesting story about his relationship with Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. While they are now good friends, the relationship had a rocky start. Maxwell revealed that Kohli, who backed him for a spot in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team after his time with Punjab Kings, had once blocked him on Instagram following an incident during the 2017 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
During the third Test of that series in Ranchi, Kohli injured his shoulder, forcing him to miss the final match. In a heated moment, Maxwell mimicked Kohli by clutching his own shoulder in jest, which did not sit well with the Indian captain. Kohli, upset with Maxwell's behavior, blocked him on Instagram.
Years later, before IPL 2021, when Maxwell joined RCB, Kohli welcomed him warmly, leading Maxwell to realize that he had been blocked. When Maxwell confronted him, Kohli admitted it was because of the 2017 incident. However, the two patched things up, and their relationship improved significantly after that, with Maxwell expressing gratitude for Kohli's support in his RCB journey.
