Manoj Tiwary has publicly criticized Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, reigniting their long-standing feud. In a recent interview, Tiwary recounted a heated confrontation during their time at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), claiming Gambhir threatened him over his batting position. Tiwary stated that Gambhir barged into the washroom and warned him, “This attitude won't work. Tujhekabhikhilaunganahi (I won't give you a game).” This altercation was reportedly diffused by Wasim Akram, the bowling coach at the time.
The tension between them escalated during a 2015 Ranji Trophy match, where Tiwary alleged that Gambhir verbally abused him from the slips, using offensive language and threatening physical violence. Tiwary recalled responding defiantly, suggesting they settle their differences immediately rather than wait until evening.
Tiwary's criticism extends beyond personal grievances; he has labeled Gambhir a "hypocrite" for his coaching decisions and favoritism, particularly after India's recent poor performances under Gambhir's leadership. Tiwary's comments reflect not only personal animosity but also broader concerns regarding Gambhir's effectiveness as a coach amid mounting pressure following significant losses in international series
