If not retained by KKR in IPL 2025 Mega auction Rinku Singh wants to play for this IPL team
Ahead of IPL 2025 a lot lies in stake for cricketers as there will be a mega auction this time. Save the retentions, the players will be released for the auction. Therefore the ace finisher Rinku Singh has claimed that if Kolkata Knight Riders don’t retain him, then the southpaw would like to join Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Rinku Singh has chosen RCB as his best alternative team if KKR fails to retain him or re-buy him in the mega auction.
When asked about which team would be his preference if KKR doesn’t retain him, Rinku replied RCB with a smile. He said, “I don’t know anything for now. I haven’t been informed about the retention and what will happen in the auction. Let’s see what happens.”
Rinku Singh has been a part of Kolkata Knight Riders for the last couple of seasons. He helped KKR win IPL 2024 but his contributions were greatly limited owing to the usage of the Impact Player rule. Furthermore, he also revealed that he shared a special bond with ace batter Virat Kohli.
Giving a prime proof of his bonding with the ace RCB star Rinku said, “Virat bhaiya had given me a bat previously which broke. Then I asked him to give me another bat. He didn’t say anything and gave me another bat. It is a big thing for me that he has given me another bat.”
