Team India now have their own tearaway pacer as Mayank Yadav has been announced in the playing XI for the first T20I against Bangladesh. Apart from this, Hyderabad-born Nitish Kumar Reddy has also been handed his debut cap.The Delhi-born pacer sent shockwaves when he racked up speeds upwards of 150 kmph. His 12.1 overs at the IPL 2024 were enough for him to get fast-tracked into the national setup, where he will partner the white-ball alongside Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya.
Mayank Yadav won two Player of the Matches in his first two IPL games. Things were looking rosy for him but a side strain cut short his stint with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Another talented star making his debut is Nitish Kumar Reddy. The 21-year-old might just end India’s long-standing wait for the next pace-bowling all-rounder. After all, he got all the tools and skills to do so. Unlike Mayank, Nitish is coming into this game with some match practice, having played three Duleep Trophy games for India B.
At IPL 2024, the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s local talent mustered 303 runs at a strike rate of almost 143. He even took three wickets. This all comes with a package, with addition to the fact that Nitish is an excellent fielder. Any T20 team yearns for a player like him, who can contribute massively in all departments.
