In ICC rankings history, Jasprit Bumrah becomes highest-ever ranked Indian Test bowler

India's Jasprit Bumrah has made history by becoming the highest-ranked Indian Test bowler in ICC rankings, surpassing Ravichandran Ashwin's previous record of 904 rating points. With a new total of 907 points, Bumrah is now joint-17th on the all-time list alongside England's Derek Underwood.

His impressive performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series, where he took nine wickets in the Melbourne Test against Australia, solidified his position as the No. 1 Test bowler.

Additionally, Australia’s Pat Cummins advanced to third place in the bowling rankings after his six wickets in the Boxing Day Test, while South Africa’s Marco Jansen climbed to fifth place following his seven wickets against Pakistan. Aiden Markram's strong innings helped him return to the top 20 batters globally, contributing to South Africa's success in securing a spot in the ICC Test Championship final.
