In India’s Champions Trophy opener vs Bangladesh, No Varun Chakravarthy, Arshdeep Singh

In their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener against Bangladesh in Dubai, the Indian cricket team has left out Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh from the playing XI. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first.

Captain Rohit Sharma mentioned that the team made only a couple of changes from their 3rd ODI against England.HarshitRana will partner with Mohammad Shami, while Axar Patel, RavindraJadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav will form the spin unit.

Arshdeep Singh, who was picked ahead of Mohammed Siraj in the squad, and Varun Chakravarthy, who replaced YashasviJaiswal, have both been benched. Rohit Sharma had previously praised Chakravarthy’s exceptional form over the past year, which influenced his selection for the tournament. India is also pondering whether to play KL Rahul at No. 5 or No. 6.
