The captain of Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson, has earned a massive name for himself courtesy of his consistent performance in the IPL and for leading RR to the finals in 2022. The 28-year-old joined the Royals in 2013 before returning for his second stint with the franchise in 2018. Sanju’s cricketing career moved ahead in 2021 when he was named RR’s skipper. The right-hand batter took one season to assemble a great side and almost won the second title for Rajasthan in 2022.
Speaking about Sanju Samson’s performance for RR, the right-handed batter has played 152 games and amassed 3888 runs at an average of almost 30. He plays at a good strike rate of 137.19 and has three IPL centuries to his name apart from scoring 20 fifties in the franchise-based league.
Despite having such fine numbers, Sanju Samson has not been able to perform consistently in the IPL. His outings also reflected on his team’s performance, as they failed to reach the playoff stage in the IPL 2023.
