In IPL 2025 Mock Auction, Yuzvendra Chahal goes to RCB for a whopping Rs 12 crore

Yuzvendra Chahal looks set for a return to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – at least, according to fans. With the IPL 2025 mega auction just 10 days away, some cricket enthusiasts held a mock auction to predict the possible moves, focusing on the leg spinner who has set his base price at Rs 2 crore.

In this mock auction, teams like Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Gujarat Titans (GT), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and RCB all vied for Chahal. RCB kicked off the bidding, with PBKS and GT bowing out early. MI jumped in but withdrew when the price surpassed Rs 9 crore. CSK then joined the fray, raising Chahal’s price to Rs 11.5 crore. Finally, RCB, having stayed in the mix from the start, secured Chahal for Rs 12 crore – six times his base price.

Chahal, who made his IPL debut with MI in 2013, became the league’s highest wicket-taker while spending eight successful seasons with RCB. Despite excelling at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, known for being tough on bowlers, RCB shockingly didn’t bid for him at the 2022 mega auction. Chahal moved to Rajasthan Royals, where he won the Purple Cap in his first season. However, with only six retentions allowed, RR released him ahead of IPL 2025, opening the door for his potential RCB return.
