Tamil Nadu pacer T Natarajan is set to begin a new chapter with the Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2025 after being acquired for ₹10.75 crore in the mega auction. This marks his return to competitive cricket following a six-month recovery from a shoulder injury sustained after the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) in mid-2024. Previously with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Natarajan delivered an impressive 2024 IPL season, taking 19 wickets in 14 matches, including best figures of 4/19.
Natarajan expressed excitement about working alongside Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, who joined DC as the highest-paid player of IPL 2024. As a fellow left-arm pacer, Natarajan hopes to learn from Starc’s experience and skills, particularly his variations. “Every bowler has something unique, and I’m eager to pick up something different from him,” he said.
Despite being out of India’s national team since 2021, Natarajan remains confident about his form and fitness. He credited DC’s coaching staff for their support during his recovery” However, competition for a spot in DC’s bowling lineup will be stiff, with players like Starc, Mohit Sharma, and DushmanthaChameera also in the squad.
