In IPL 2025 Umran Malik ready for new beginning at KKR
Umran Malik is eager to redefine his career as he joins Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for IPL 2025 after a challenging period marred by injuries and inconsistent performances. Once a hot commodity in the league, Malik had a stellar season in 2022, taking 22 wickets in 14 matches. However, his form dipped significantly in subsequent seasons, leading to him going unsold initially at the IPL auction before being picked up by KKR for ₹75 lakh.
Expressing his excitement about donning the KKR jersey, Malik stated, “I am really happy to join KKR this season. They are the defending champions, and I am confident about getting plenty of opportunities.” He emphasized his commitment to making a comeback to the Indian team after more than a year and reassured fans that he is “200 percent fit.”
Despite recent injuries affecting his pace, Malik is optimistic about returning to form. He plans to showcase his skills in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy before the IPL. “I am going to kill it in IPL 2025,” he declared, expressing confidence in taking wickets while consistently bowling in the 150s.
