In press meet for travelling Indian media, Australian media targets Ravindra Jadeja for not taking their questions

A press conference featuring Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja turned controversial as Australian media sought a quote in English during a session primarily organized for traveling Indian journalists. The incident occurred at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where Jadeja was reportedly pressed for time as the team bus was ready to depart after practice.

When Australian reporters requested to ask a question in English, the media manager informed them that there wasn’t enough time, stating, “This was organized mainly for the traveling Indian media.” Frustrated by the response, some Australian journalists expressed their discontent, labeling the organization as “hopeless.”

An Indian reporter present at the meeting noted that several Indian journalists also missed the opportunity to ask questions due to time constraints but did not confront the media manager as the Australians did. The situation escalated when Australian reporters argued with the Indian media manager, which was deemed unprofessional.

This incident follows recent tensions involving Indian players and Australian media, including Virat Kohli’s altercation over privacy concerns regarding his family. The Australian media’s tendency to shift narratives has often drawn criticism, and this latest episode has added fuel to ongoing discussions about media conduct in international cricket.
