In Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Haryana, Ajinkya Rahane smashes century

Ajinkya Rahane, Mumbai’s captain, scored a century in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Haryana. This was his 41st first-class century. Rahane scored 108 runs off 160 balls, including 12 boundaries. His performance helped Mumbai gain a lead of over 300 runs.

In Mumbai’s second innings, Rahane’s captaincy was vital after the team lost early wickets. Batting at number four, he stabilized the innings.Rahane formed a 129-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 70 off 86 balls. Shivam Dube then supported Rahane, who reached his century during their partnership.

In the first innings, Rahane scored 31 off 58 balls. Mumbai scored 315 runs, with TanushKotian (97) and Shams Mulani (91) contributing significantly. Haryana responded with 301, as Ankit Kumar achieved a century. Shardul Thakur’s 6-wicket haul gave Mumbai a 14-run lead. In the 12 innings he has played this season, Rahane has scored over 437 runs.
