In the 2nd inning of the 4th Test Match, Dhruv Jurel reveals his ’10-run sets’ plan for the Ranchi win with Shubman Gill

The keeper of team India, Dhruv Jurel, credits the lower-order batsmen with helping India pick up a crucial win at Ranchi. The hosts secured a 5-wicket win in the IND vs. ENG 4th Test, taking a 3-1 lead in the series. Jurel played a major role with the bat in both innings, scoring a 90 and a 39-run, unbeaten knock.
“I play according to the demands of the situation. In the first inning, we needed to get runs as well; we knew we had to bat last, so any runs would be vital. I was involved in some partnerships, so credit does go to all those who stayed and added runs. I just saw the ball and then reacted to it, not thinking too far ahead. The conversation was good (with Shubman Gill in the 2nd  inning) we just broke it into 10-run sets and started developing the partnership,” Jurel says at the post-match presentation.
India held their nerves to register an emphatic win in the 4th Test at Ranchi. A sensational spell from Ashiwn and Kuldeep ensured India had their task cut short on Day 3. However, England fought back fiercely at the start of Day 4, grabbing five wickets.
Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) was the first to go on Day 4, with Joe Root striking. India skipper Rohit Sharma (55) raced to a half-century in the first session before he was dismissed by Hartley. RajatPatidar, Sarfaraz Khan, and Ravindra Jadeja perished for single-digit scores soon after.
Jurel (39) and Gill (52) guided India to a comfortable victory post-lunch. India beat England by 5 wickets to win the 4th Test.
