In the Cricket World Cup 2023, Jasprit Bumrah achieves a historic feat for India

The star fast bowler of team India, Jasprit Bumrah, became the first Indian cricket team bowler to take a wicket on the very first ball of a team innings during a Cricket World Cup match. During the Cricket World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka, Bumrah produced the perfect first delivery as Pathum Nissanka was trapped LBW. The delivery moved rapidly away from the batsman, and it hit Nissanka high on the pads. The umpire gave it out, but Sri Lanka went for a review, and it confirmed the fact that the delivery was clipping the bails on the left stump. When it comes to the Cricket World Cup, no Indian bowler has ever achieved this feat.

Once again, Virat Kohli missed out on a record equalling the 49th ODI hundred, but Indian batters made merry on a flat deck to score a mammoth 357 for 8 against Sri Lanka.
