Narine was the star of the show, producing clinical performances with both the bat and the ball to take home the ‘Player of the Match’ award. This was Narine’s 14th POTM award for KKR. He joined Andre Russell as players to win the most POTM awards for the Kolkata franchise.
Sunil Narine was on song right from the start in the DC vs. KKR match on Wednesday. Opening the innings, Narine started on the offensive right from the start, giving KKR a flying start. He ultimately departed for 85 off 39 balls to ensure the middle order had a solid platform to lean on.
Narine then weaved his magic with his bowling spell. He finished with the figures of 1/29 in four overs as KKR achieved a 106-run victory against DC.
His dominant display earned him his 14th POTM award for KKR, equaling Russell as the player with the most POTM awards for the Kolkata outfit. After these two, present mentor GautamGambhir stands third in the list of most POTM awards for KKR with 10, followed by Yusuf Pathan with seven.
