In the finals of Asian Champions Trophy Final IND beat CHN 1-0, defend Asian crown

India have won the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 a record-extending fifth time but they were made to work for it by home favourites China. The Chinese were the rank underdogs and had lost 3-0 to them in their opening match of the tournament. However, they pushed India to the limit and it was only a solitary goal from Jugraj Singh in the fourth quarter that gave the defending champions the lead.

After win in Moqi, India have been notching up win, but will faced a resolute Chinese side buoyed by a vocal local crowd.

India had won all their five matches in the group stage before prevailing comfortably in the semifinal too. On Monday, India registered a 4-1 win over Korea in the Semi-Final as Uttam Singh (13’) gave India the lead in the first quarter, followed by goals from Harmanpreet Singh (19’, 45+’) and Jarmanpreet Singh (32’). Jihun Yang (33’) scored the only goal for Korea.
