In WPL season 2024, defending champions Mumbai Indians continued their winning streak by winning the thrilling season opener match by 4 wickets. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur notched a brilliant 55, while Yastika Bhatia top-scored with 57 off 45 balls. For the Delhi Capitals, Arundhati Reddy and Alice Capsey picked up two wickets each, while MarizanneKapp and Shikha Pandey scalped one wicket each.
Earlier, in the opening match of the WPL 2024 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Delhi Capitals managed to put up a score of 171 runs for the loss of five wickets against defending champions the Mumbai Indians on Friday.
Alice Capsey stood out with a 75-run knock, while Jemimah Rodrigues added 42 to the side’s cause. MarizanneKapp chipped in with a late cameo that took the capital city side’s score beyond the 170-run mark in the final over. Earlier, Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to bowl against the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals.
