Former captain of the England cricket team, Kevin Pietersen, has heaped praise on Indian all-rounder Axar Patel. In the IND vs. ENG 1st Test, Axar Patel scalped two crucial wickets from Jonny Bairstow and Ben Foakes. The Three Lions have been struck by the magic of the Indian spinners.
India went with three spinners, and Axar shone brightly with the ball. This prompted Kevin Pietersen to lavish praise on Axar, claiming it is difficult for batters to understand which ball will turn or not.

During the tea break, Kevin Pietersen said, "Axar, for me, is the difficult one. As a batter, in the dressing room, I have to think which ball is going to turn and which does not.”
Axar Patel’s specialty in bowling is non-turning. This heaps huge rewards for Axar in Indian conditions. Almost 50% of Axar’s victims in India are either LBW or bowled, which essentially means that the ball doesn’t turn much.
This unorthodox spin style is extremely troublesome for batters. As a result, Kevin Pietersen rightly pointed out that, as a batter, he will be in big trouble pondering which ball is going to turn and which ball won’t.
