In the Mumbai Ranji Team, injured Shardul Thakur makes way for new star Shivam Dube

With two victories in two matches in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024, giants Mumbai face Kerala in the third round starting January 19 in Thiruvananthapuram. But the team faces a slight challenge ahead of the encounter as star India all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who plies his trade for Mumbai, has been ruled out for two weeks due to an ankle injury.
In fact, Shardul had sustained the injury during the South Africa Test series, where he played the first match in Centurion but failed to leave a mark, as he picked up only one wicket and didn’t do enough with the bat.
AjinkyaNaik, the Mumbai Cricket Association secretary, said, “He has informed the MCA that he will take two more weeks to recover. We are also waiting for an official communication from the NCA.”
Apart from that, SheryasIyer has been left out of the squad as well, as he is in the Test team for the upcoming Test series against England. starting in a few days from now. Meanwhile, another all-rounder, Shivam Dube, has made his way back into the Mumbai squad now. Shivam Dube was impressed with his performances in the India vs. Afghanistan T20I series.
