After Pat Cummins took a hat-trick, the opener of the Australian cricket team, David Warner, smashed an unbeaten half-century as Australia defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs via the DLS method in a T20 World Cup Super 8 match in Antigua.
While chasing the target of 141 runs, Warner was unbeaten by 53 when rain interrupted the proceedings for the third time. The Australian cricket team was 28 runs ahead of the par score; hence, they were declared winners as per the DLS method. Earlier, a late three-wicket burst from Pat Cummins helped team Australia restrict Bangladesh to 140/8.
Brief scores:
Bangladesh: 140/8 in 20 overs (Najmul Hossain Shanto 41, TowhidHridoy 40; Pat Cummins 3/29).
Australia: 100/2 in 11.2 overs (David Warner 53 not out, Travis Head 31; Rishad Hossain 2/23).
