In the Super Eight stage of the ICC T20 World Cup, England beat the West Indies by 8 wickets

The batters of England played exceptionally well to defeat the West Indies by 8 wickets in their Super 8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
While chasing the target of 181 runs, Phil Salt and Jonny Bairstow were unstoppable for the defending champions. Salt, who had a fabulous IPL 2024 for KKR, accumulated 87 runs off 47 balls, laced with 7 fours and 5 sixes. Bairstow was equally impressive, amassing 48 runs off 26 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes.
Earlier, the West Indies posted 180/4, with a few batters getting the starts but failing to score big. Johnson Charles (38), Nicholas Pooran (36), Rovman Powell (36), Sherfane Rutherford (28 not out), and Brandon King (retired hurt) showed their class in the batting department. However, it was not enough in the end, as they got defeated by eight wickets.
