In the Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024, Sri Lanka beats Malaysia by 144 runs

The Sri Lanka Women Cricket team continues their winning run in the Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024 as they register a dominant 144-run victory over Malaysia in the second group stage match and almost secure their place in the semifinals. 
After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka put up a total of 184/4 on the board. The bulk of the scoring was done by Chamari Athapaththu, who scored 119 off 69 deliveries. Chasing such a big score, Malaysia looked out of depth as ShashiniGimhani scalped three wickets, assisted by KawyaKavindi and KavishaDilhari, who took two wickets each. 
Malaysia’s innings wrapped up for only 40 runs, and it provided Sri Lanka with a big net run rate. Chamari Athapaththu becomes the first ever cricketer to score a century in the Women's Asia Cup T20.
