In U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, India beat England in semis to set up final vs South Africa

Defending champions India advanced to the final of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 after a convincing nine-wicket victory over England in the second semi-final at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur. The Indian bowlers excelled, with ParunikaSisodia (3/21) and Vaishnavi Sharma (3/23) leading the attack. KamaliniGunalan was the standout performer with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 56 runs off 50 balls.

Chasing a modest target of 114, India got off to a solid start, with openers Kamalini and Gongadi Trisha putting on 44 runs during the powerplay. They reached a 50-run partnership in the eighth over before Trisha was dismissed by Phoebe Brett, giving England a glimmer of hope. However, SanikaChalke joined Kamalini at the crease, and they maintained a steady pace to guide India to victory with five overs to spare.

Earlier, England, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, struggled to build momentum and finished with a total of 113/8. This win sets up a final clash against South Africa, who defeated Australia in the first semi-final. Both teams have remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, promising an exciting final on Sunday.
