In WODIs, Team India registers its joint-highest total
In a remarkable performance, India Women registered their joint-highest ODI score of 358 for five during the second match against West Indies Women at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium on December 24, 2024. This total matches their previous record of 358 for two against Ireland in 2017.
Opting to bat first, India started strong with an impressive 110-run partnership between opener Smriti Mandhana and debutant Pratika Rawal. Mandhana scored her 29th WODI fifty, while Rawal celebrated her maiden international half-century with a solid 40 runs. A mix-up in the middle led to Mandhana’s dismissal, but Harleen Deol continued the momentum, scoring her first international century. Jemimah Rodrigues also contributed significantly with a fifty.
This innings not only marks India’s highest WODI total at home, surpassing their previous record of 325 for three against South Africa earlier this year but also showcases the team’s depth and batting prowess. In their opening match of the series, India had posted 314 for nine, indicating a strong offensive display throughout the series.
