India Skipper Rohit Sharma broke a Plethora of Records in the IND vs. AUS T20 World Cup Match

The captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, has played a career-best T20 World Cup innings while batting for the genius Australia cricket team in St Lucia on Monday, June 24. He slammed a stunning 41-ball, 92-run innings, his best in the T20 World Cup. Hitman just fell short of his maiden T20 World Cup hundred after he was bowled out by Mitchell Starc in the 12th over of the game. The innings of Rohit were filled with eight sixes and seven boundaries, which helped India dominate the proceedings against Australia, despite the early wicket of Virat Kohli.
Rohit looked in terrific touch from the very start of the match. He slammed Starc in his second over, just after Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the match. This was Mitchell Starc’s most expensive over in the T20I format.
In his innings, Rohit also achieved the feat of the 200th T20I six—the first-ever cricketer to achieve the feat. Rohit completed his fifty in just 19 balls, the third-fastest fifty scored by any Indian batter in a T20 World Cup. Rohit was behind Yuvraj Singh’s 12-ball fifty against England in 2007 and KL Rahul’s 18-ball fifty against Scotland in the 2021 edition of the tournament.
Rohit now has the second-highest individual score by a captain in T20 World Cups. Universe Boss Chris Gayle earlier held the highest individual score by a captain in the tournament. He smashed a match-winning 98 against India in the 2010 edition.
It is worth noting that no other player has scored 90+ runs in this regard. He has also completed 19,000 runs and is the leading boundary hitter in the T20 World Cup.
