India Star batsman Virat Kohli tops highest tax-paying cricketers’ list

Virat Kohli who is the modern run machine in the world of cricket topped the list of highest tax-paying cricketers in the financial year 2024. Surprisingly, Rohit Sharma the captain of India was absent from the top 20 in India. Alongside Kohli, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar were also among the top tax contributors, revealed in the report of Fortune India.

King Kohli is one of the richest players in India and a responsible citizen who contributes significantly to tax payments. In the 2024 financial year, he paid Rs 66 crores in income tax, making him the fifth highest tax contributor among Indian celebrities. However, the T20 World Cup 2024 winning captain Rohit Sharma was missing from the list of top 20 celebrities who have paid the highest tax this year.

MS Dhoni is sixth, with a contribution of Rs 38 crores. Meanwhile, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar paid Rs 28 crores in tax to the Indian government in 2024.

The former president of BCCI and former Indian team captain Sourav Ganguly paid Rs 23 crores. Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant also made it to the list, with contributions of Rs 13 crores and Rs 10 crores, respectively.
