The Indian women cricket team secured a victory of 10 wickets over South Africa in their only women test match against South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With their backs to the wall after the first two days, the South African cricket team showed a lot of heart to avoid the follow-on, but their efforts were not enough to help them win. The Indian women cricket team in the main time made it 3-0 against their opponents in the test cricket. After defeating the Australia and England women cricket teams by huge margins last year, India keeps nominating the format at home.
After conceding a huge lead of 337 runs, the South African cricket team made a comeback in the second innings. The experienced duo of Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Lupus put on 190 runs for the second wicket. Wolvaardt got to her sanctuary in 259 balls and became only the third batsman in women's cricket to score a century in all three formats, along with Heather Knight of England and Tammy Beaumont.
In the chase, Smriti Mandhana did not come out to bat; instead, left-hander ShubhamSatheesh came out to open the batting with Shafali Varma.
After winning the ODI series and the only test match, the Indian women cricket team is looking to carry their form in the three-match T20 International series, which is going to start on July 5 in Chepauk.
