India Women gets Second-biggest Victory by Defeating West Indies Women by 211 runs

India Women achieved a remarkable 211-run victory over the West Indies in the first ODI at Vadodara International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, marking their second-largest win in terms of runs in Women’s ODIs. After being put to bat, India posted an impressive total of 314/9, with opener SmritiMandhana leading the charge, scoring 91 runs off 102 balls. This innings was complemented by a solid debut performance from PratikaRawal, who contributed 40 runs, forming a crucial 110-run partnership with Mandhana.

In response, the West Indies struggled significantly and were bowled out for just 103 runs. Renuka Thakur was the standout bowler for India, claiming five wickets for 22 runs, while Priya Mishra added two wickets and Deepti Sharma took one. This victory not only showcased India’s batting depth but also highlighted their bowling prowess.

India’s previous largest win in Women’s ODIs came in 2017 when they defeated New Zealand by 249 runs. With this match, India takes a 1-0 lead in the series against the West Indies, continuing their strong performance following a successful T20 series.
