India's blockbuster Take on Rookie Star says, "Sarfaraz Khan Didn't Get Opportunity At The Right Time"

Former selector of team India, Dilip Vengsarkar, has questioned the management over their use of rookie players, especially Sarfaraz Khan. Vengsarkar said that while the management didn't give Sarfaraz the opportunity at the right time, the batter can still deliver for the team. Sarfaraz was called up by the Indian team to replace the injured KL Rahul in the squad for the second Test against England. While India handed a debut to Madhya Pradesh batter RajatPatidar, Sarfaraz was once again left out of the picture.

Vengsarkar said while hinting towards the ouster of Sarfaraz that if a player doesn't get the opportunity at the right time, he might lose his confidence and hunger to perform after one point.

Vengsarkar said, "There are a lot of good players all around. I think [Rajat] Patidar is good, and I watched him play around four years ago. However, he did not get an opportunity back then. Sarfaraz Khan is good as well, but he has not gotten the opportunity at the right time. I think the timing has to be precise in these situations—provide opportunities to these youngsters when they are in great form. If you lose that time, then the player might lose his form, interest, or fitness.”
