Injured star of England joins elite club despite early dismissal by Ashwin

While the innings of Joe Root were cut short by legendary Ravichandran Ashwin, England’s Joe Root managed a remarkable feat on Day 2 of the second Test against India, crossing 1000 Test runs in India. Despite his dismissal, this achievement cements his place among the batting greats who have conquered Indian pitches.
Joe Root's knock was comprised of reverse sweeps and a booming six-over long-off. However, Ravichandran Ashwin’s guile proved too much, and a miscued slog resulted in a catch at short third, leaving Joe Root stranded on 16 runs.
But even in this brief stay, Joe Root etched his name into cricketing history. Only five other visiting batsmen have ever accumulated over 1000 Test runs in India, a testament to the challenging nature of these conditions. Joining the likes of Clive Lloyd, Alastair Cook, and Matthew Hayden, Root has proven his adaptability and class on foreign soil.
Battling through injury, he still managed to score at a brisk pace and entertain the crowd. His determination and skill are undeniable, and fans will be hoping for a full recovery and a bigger score in the next inning.
