IPL 2024 Retentions: Delhi Capitals will keep Prithvi Shaw while Kolkata Knight Riders release Shardul Thakur

Rahul Dravid is set to vacate his position as the head coach of the Indian men's cricket team. Dravid, whose time period was over with the conclusion of the ODI World Cup 2023, does not seem eager to renew his contract, as per sources. The former captain of Team India is expected to join the Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024 season.

The head of the National Cricket Academy, VVS Laxman, is the frontrunner to take over the coaching job. Laxman, who is currently coaching the Indian team in Dravid's absence, could take over on a full-time basis after the India vs. Australia T20I series.

As per the statement of the top source who is in charge of development, Dravid did not want to continue and is already in talks with LSG. It seems that if he doesn't continue with the national team, he might go to LSG as a mentor. On the other hand, VVS Laxman, who is with the team as head coach, may continue.
