IPL Franchise CSK most valuable team at $122 million, Virat Kohli’s RCB placed at third

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has experienced remarkable growth, with its brand value surging by 13% from $10.7 billion in 2023 to $12 billion in 2024, according to the Brand Finance IPL report. This increase reflects the league’s expanding influence and commercial success. Notably, four teams—Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)—have surpassed the $100 million mark in brand value for the first time.

CSK leads the pack with a brand value of $122 million, marking a 52% increase, while MI follows closely at $119 million, up by 36%. RCB has also seen significant growth, reaching $117 million after a 67% rise. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) emerged as the fastest-growing team, with an impressive 76% increase in brand value, now valued at $85 million.

The IPL auction also highlighted the financial stakes involved, with Rishabh Pant becoming the most expensive player in history at ₹27 crore, followed by ShreyasIyer at ₹26.75 crore. This financial boom underscores the IPL’s status as a global sports powerhouse, attracting top talent and expanding its commercial reach beyond India.
