The BCCI has extended some of its recently implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to the IPL franchises ahead of the 2025 season. These measures, aimed at maintaining discipline and professionalism, include mandatory team bus travel for players and barring families from dressing rooms, even on non-match days. Players must now travel to practice sessions in team buses, with teams allowed to split into two batches if necessary. Families and friends can watch practice sessions from designated hospitality areas but must travel separately.
Additionally, only accredited staff are permitted in dressing rooms during practice or non-match days. Teams must submit a list of extended support staff, such as net bowlers or throwdown specialists, for BCCI approval before accreditation is issued.
The BCCI has also introduced penalties for breaches of the SOPs. Players failing to carry their accreditation cards on match days will face warnings initially, followed by monetary fines for repeated offenses. Dress codes for post-match presentations have been tightened, with sleeveless jerseys and loose clothing prohibited. Warnings will be issued for first-time violations, escalating to financial penalties thereafter.
Franchise officials have welcomed these measures, emphasizing their alignment with existing internal policies. These rules aim to ensure professionalism while setting a standard for team operations and discipline.
