Jos Buttler is hopeful that Jofra Archer will be available for the T20 World Cup after skipping the IPL in 2024

The captain of the England cricket team, Jos Buttler, has hinted at a major boost for the upcoming T20 World Cup, suggesting star fast bowler Jofra Archer could be available for the tournament.
Jofra Archer has been side-lined for a year due to an elbow injury. His last competitive cricket came during England’s tour of Bangladesh in March 2023. He attempted a comeback in the IPL later that year but suffered a stress fracture, forcing him out once again.
However, after extensive rehabilitation, there’s optimism surrounding Archer’s return. Buttler said, “We all know his talent, and it’s been tough for him to miss out.” The England skipper remains positive, highlighting Archer’s dedication to recovery and his collaboration with medical professionals. “He’s working incredibly hard, and you can see his desire to return.”
Despite missing the IPL 2024, Archer recently re-joined the England squad for training in the Caribbean. He also surprised many by playing a match for his former school team, further fuelling hopes of a comeback.
“It’s exciting to see him potentially return to top form,” expressed Buttler, acknowledging Archer’s game-changing abilities. “He’s a bowler you trust with the ball in crucial moments, and his presence is a huge asset for the entire cricketing world.”
Jofra Archer is currently training in India with his county side, Sussex, in preparation for the English season.
