Kamran Akmal Criticizes PCB Chairman After Pakistan's ODI Series Loss to New Zealand

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has launched a scathing attack on Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, urging him to resign if he is unable to improve the current state of the men's cricket team. Akmal's remarks come after Pakistan's dismal performance in the ODI series against New Zealand, where the Mohammad Rizwan-led side squandered a 2-0 lead and suffered an 84-run defeat in the decider. This series loss follows their poor showing in the T20I series and an early exit from their Champions Trophy title defense.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Akmal criticized Pakistan's underwhelming display in the second ODI in Hamilton. Despite reducing New Zealand to 132/5, Mitchell Hay (99*) and Muhammad Abbas (41) launched a counterattack, lifting their team to 292/8. Akmal highlighted the indiscipline of Pakistan's bowlers, calling for a complete overhaul of the bowling department. He also expressed frustration over the team's inability to capitalize on favorable conditions.

Pakistan's batting lineup crumbled to 65/6 before Faheem Ashraf’s 73 and Naseem Shah’s 51 added respectability to their total of 208. Akmal lamented the lack of accountability among players and management, stating that Pakistan cricket is being "destroyed" due to repeated failures.
