Kuldeep Yadav opens up about bonding with MS Dhoni and says, “With Mahi Bhai, I just had to bowl”

Kuldeep Yadav, the esteemed spinner from India, emphasized the significant role played by the legendary Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni throughout his career. Although Kuldeep made his international debut under the leadership of Virat Kohli, he acknowledged Dhoni’s invaluable contributions from behind the stumps.
The veteran wicketkeeper shared strategic insights with the bowlers, aiding in their improvement and delivering the desired results for the Indian team.
Kuldeep said, “I wanted Dhoni to play more because it was very easy for us when we were bowling. After Dhoni retired, my performance with the ball wasn’t great.“
“It happens when a person guides you and that person’s influence is not there anymore, then suddenly everything is on your shoulders. It takes time for you to react to the situation. That probably happened to me. Then slowly you understand and become self-reliant.”
“No doubt the time I had with Mahi Bhai on the field and even off the field was great.” said Kuldeep
Kuldeep expressed his longing for Dhoni’s guidance after the latter’s retirement from international cricket in 2020. He noted a decline in his bowling performance during this period, attributing it to the absence of Dhoni’s influence.
