Legend of the West Indies Brian Lara gives advice for Surya Kumar Yadav, which may not be liked by Dravid and Rohit Sharma

The return of star batsman Surya Kumar Yadav to form just in time for the T20 World Cup is going well for India. Surya Kumar Yadav, who is the number one ranked T20 batsman in the world, smashed his second century of his IPL career in the seven-wicket victory of the Mumbai Indians over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.

To make sure all is going well with India and Surya, Brian Lara, who is the legendary player of the West Indies, has suggested the dynamic batsman bat at number 3, pushing Virat Kohli down to number 4.

In an interaction, Lara said my one advice, and I don't know if you are going to like it or not, but Surya Kumar Yadav has to bat at number 3; he just has to bat at 3 because he is one of the greatest T20 players in the game, and you speak to players like Sir Viv, and he will also tell you he used to want to get out there in the middle.”

Brian further said, I feel that that is the same thing with Surya Kumar, so get in on it as quickly as possible. Surya is not an opener but you should try him and if he can bat for 10 to 15 overs then you can see what is going to happen. He is going to put you in a good position if you bat him first, or he is going to win the game if he is batting second, and then let everybody sort themselves out of that, but good structure is important. Just find a way to make sure SKY bats at number 3.

Surya Kumar has mostly batted for India in the number 4 position, scoring 1402 runs from 35 innings at an average of 50, including 3 centuries.
