Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are grappling with significant injury concerns ahead of IPL 2025. Shardul Thakur has been signed as a replacement for Mohsin Khan, who is sidelined due to an ACL injury followed by a calf strain. Thakur’s inclusion provides much-needed experience to LSG’s depleted pace attack and he is set to feature in their opening match against Delhi Capitals on March 24.
Mayank Yadav, recovering from multiple injuries including a back issue, is expected to regain fitness by April 15. Meanwhile, Avesh Khan and Akash Deep are still recovering from injuries and will miss the first three matches of the season. The absence of these key players has forced LSG to explore additional replacements, including Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed.
LSG mentor Zaheer Khan acknowledged the dynamic nature of the situation, emphasizing adaptability in managing the squad. Despite these setbacks, the team remains optimistic about delivering competitive performances under Rishabh Pant’s leadership.
