Mashrafe Bin Mortaza ex-Bangladesh captain house was burned down; protesters entered inside and destroyed everything

After breaking into the Parliament of Bangladesh, the residence of Prime Minister, Chief Justice, and vandalising and looting, the protesters have now set fire to the house of former cricket captain Mashrafe Murtaza. Mashrafe Murtaza was considered very close to former Bangladesh. In the middle of massive protests and uproar, PM Sheikh Hasina resigned and hastily left Bangladesh and flew to London. Murtaza is an MP from Narail-2 constituency in Khulna Division; he won the seat for the second consecutive time as an Awami League candidate during the general elections held in Bangladesh earlier this year.
Local media reported that the protestors vandalised and set fire to Murtaza’s house after Sheikh Hasina left the country following massive student protests. Murtaza has led Bangladesh in 117 matches in all formats, which is a record. He took 390 international wickets and scored 2,955 runs in 36 Tests, 220 ODIs, and 54 T20Is during his long cricket career. After retiring from cricket, Murtaza entered politics by joining Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League in 2018 and was elected MP from Narail-2 constituency.
