Middle Order batsman of MI Suryakumar Yadav denied NCA clearance to miss the GT vs. MI IPL 2024 opener

Mumbai Indians have been dealt a blow in the form of a recovering Suryakumar Yadav. This means the middle-order batter will miss MI’s IPL 2024 opener against GT. As per the report, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) is yet to give clearance to SKY for his participation in the IPL.
As per the report, Suryakumar went through a fitness test on Tuesday. The NCA management has, however, withheld his clearance. This means Sky would have to wait for more before he could make his return.
Surya’s next fitness test is scheduled to be held on March 21.
SKY joined NCA to undergo rehab last week and may need at least two weeks to be back at full fitness. Considering he is crucial to India’s plans for the T20 World Cup in 2024, BCCI isn’t rushing his return.
“Every time I look at my WhatsApp's, there’s reports of other teams also losing players. We trust our medical team that they’re doing the right thing. Look, if we lose one or two from a fitness perspective, it is what it is. That’s important, and we just have to keep on the right track and sharp on replacements,” MI coach Boucher said ahead of IPL 2024.
