Mohammed Siraj On Indian Cricket Team Return says "Selection Not In My Hands..."

Ahead of the IPL 2025 season with Gujarat Titans, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj emphasized that his focus remains on performing well for his team rather than worrying about a return to the national squad. In an interview on "Backstage with Boria," Siraj reflected on his past experiences, particularly during the 2022 T20 World Cup, where he felt pressure regarding selection and struggled to perform.

"Selection is not in my hands. What is in my hands is taking wickets and performing for my team. I will give my 100 percent," he stated. Siraj noted that concentrating on selection could negatively impact his performance. He has worked on his bowling rhythm and mindset during a recent break, feeling physically fit and ready for the upcoming season.

After a seven-year stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), where he became their third-highest wicket-taker, Siraj is excited to join Gujarat Titans. He was sold for ₹12.25 crore in the IPL auction and aims to contribute significantly to his new team's success. Siraj's last competitive match was in January against Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy, and he was not part of India's ICC Champions Trophy-winning squad this year.
