Mohammed Siraj expressed his deep passion for red-ball cricket during a recent interview, highlighting its significance in his life as he made his return to domestic cricket after a long hiatus. “Playing for Hyderabad after so many years felt very good. Red-ball cricket is my life, and I will do anything to play it. Test cricket is my everything,” he stated.
Despite facing challenges with his wicket-taking form in recent Test matches, Siraj remains committed to the format and aims to bowl long spells for his team. “When I get the red ball in hand, I enjoy it a lot. I don’t think about my performance too much,” he added, emphasizing his love for the game.
Additionally, Siraj supported the BCCI’s decision to mandate national players’ participation in domestic cricket when international matches are not scheduled. He believes that seeing prominent players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli competing in domestic leagues will inspire younger cricketers.
Siraj recently played for Hyderabad against Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy, where he bowled 18 overs and took one wicket. His commitment to red-ball cricket and support for domestic competitions reflect his dedication to the sport and its future in India.
