Mumbai Indians defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by Seven Wickets in IPL 2024
Ishan Kishan smashed 69 runs and Suryakumar Yadav smashed 52 runs both of the players hit quickfire fifties as Mumbai Indians chased down 197 with seven wickets in hand and 27 balls to spare. Rohit Sharma also contributed 38 while skipper Hardik Pandya closed the game with a six.
The win marked a second in a row for the five-time champions, who had lost their first three games. For the Royal Challengers Bangalore, it was a fifth defeat off their six outings this season.
Dinesh Karthik exploded late into the innings smashing 53 runs off 23 deliveries – as Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted 196/8 off their 20 overs. While Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar also scored fifties for RCB, Jasprit Bumrah claimed his second 5-fer in IPL. Earlier, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
