Muted celebration of Harshit Rana ‘teases BCCI’
The fast bowler of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Harshit Rana, seems to be pushing the boundaries, albeit subtly, after facing penalties from the BCCI for his on-field celebrations in the IPL 2024.
He has already been sanctioned twice for his exuberant post-wicket celebrations, which included giving a ‘flying kiss’ to his opponent. He received a 100% match fee fine and a one-match suspension for his actions during the KKR vs. Delhi Capitals match.
During their recent match against the Lucknow Super Giants, Rana displayed a more subdued celebration after taking a wicket. He simply raised a finger to his lips, sparking speculation among fans that he was playfully “teasing” the BCCI.
KKR even shared the image on social media, adding fuel to the fire.
Harshit Rana was instrumental in KKR’s dominant 98-run win against LSG on Sunday. He dismantled the key second-wicket partnership of KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis and then went on to pick up two more wickets, finishing with impressive figures of 3/24 in just 3.1 overs.
This stellar performance adds to his growing list of successes, bringing his IPL 2024 wicket tally to a remarkable 14 in just nine matches.
