Nepal’s spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is unable to travel to the USA for the T20 World Cup due to visa issues

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Nepal Cricket Team has been slapped with a major blow. Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has claimed that he has been denied a visa to the USA, which means he will be unable to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup. Lamichhane claims that since 2019, he has been yet again denied a visa for the upcoming ICC tournament.
Initially, Nepal didn’t include his name in the T20 World Cup squad. This is mainly due to the fact that the player had to serve a jail sentence and needed clearance from the ICC. He was, however, cleared of his rape charges by the court.
This meant that he needed the ICC's clearance. But it was understood that after the clearance from the court, the most successful cricketer from Nepal was slated to be added to the squad.
While charged, the player was suspended from international and domestic cricket. But after being cleared of charges, he was slated to be a part of the squad.
